Male' Streetscaping Project (Segment I)

Male’ the capital city of the Maldives. It is one of the most densely populated cities in the world and is the most populated island in the Maldives. The total land area of the city is approximately 6.8 square kilometers, with a population of over 150,000 people.

Male’ city is massively congested with vehicles, limited parking and greenspaces, and it has no proper pedestrian walkways, among various other issues—as well as the long-stretched issue of flooding.

RDC is determined to re-design and build 18.08 km of the roads of Male’ City to provide a permanent solution to the recurring issues in connection with the roads of the capital city.
