Road Development Corporation (RDC) has completed 90% of the
construction work on the new 75-bed ward at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital
(IGMH), with final preparations underway for its opening.
The government initiated the development of the ward last year
to enhance healthcare capacity and services at the hospital. Designed to cater
to a range of specialized medical needs, the facility includes a 61-bed general
ward and 15 private rooms, along with 28 toilets and 6 nurse stations.
Additionally, the construction is being carried out using
the latest modern equipment. The new ward is being developed in a space that
was previously used for administrative purposes. Demolition and site clearing
began in October last year as part of the redevelopment process.
