The agreement was signed on behalf of the Corporation by its Managing Director, Mr. Ibrahim Nazeem. Under the agreement, hospital services will be temporarily relocated, and necessary repair and refurbishment works will be carried out at the Amaan Hiya building to accommodate healthcare services.
The Government has decided to demolish the existing Vilimale Hospital and construct a new 100-bed hospital at the same location. The new hospital is being developed with grant assistance from the Government of the People’s Republic of China.
The existing Vilimale Hospital currently serves a population of approximately 15,000 residents but has limited capacity and facilities. At present, the hospital has only three patient care rooms, with five beds allocated for emergency services, underscoring the need for expanded and modern healthcare infrastructure in Vilimale.
