Foundation Stone Laid for New Building of Baa Atoll Hospital

The foundation stone for a new building to be added to the Baa Atoll
Hospital has been officially laid, marking the commencement of construction
works for the project.
The ceremony was held during the visit of the Minister of Health, Mr.
Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, to B. Eydhafushi. The foundation stone of the new
hospital building was laid by the Minister at the event.
The ceremony was attended by officials of the Road Development Corporation,
the President and members of the Eydhafushi Council, officials of Baa Atoll
Hospital, and representatives from the Ministry of Health.
The construction of the new building at Baa Atoll Hospital is a major
development initiative undertaken by the Government to strengthen healthcare
services in the atolls. Under this broader project, a brand-new 50-bed hospital
is planned to be developed in B. Eydhafushi.
The project is valued at MVR 181.7 million and is scheduled to be completed
within 540 days. The new facility is expected to significantly enhance
healthcare capacity and service delivery for residents of Baa Atoll.
