Initiation of work for a solution to Male’ City’s water flooding crisis

The project to tackle the problem of water flooding in Male’ City was inaugurated today by Defence Minister Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon at a special ceremony held in the Westpark area. Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar, Minister for Construction and Infrastructure Dr. Abdulla Muhthalib, Managing Director of RDC Brigadier General (Retd) Ali Zuhair, Chief of Defence Force Major General Ibrahim Hilmy, and other senior government officials attended the event.

As part of the project, the first flood issue to be addressed is in the Westpark area. The project, in collaboration with the Construction Ministry, will install necessary facilities to drain water from the Westpark area, with plans to extend similar efforts to other areas.
