Maradhoo Feydhoo FRC Construction Begins; Feydhoo Netball Court Project Awarded

The practical construction work of the Fitness and Recreation Center (FRC)
in Maradhoo Feydhoo, Addu City, has officially commenced. In addition, the
Corporation has been awarded the contract for the establishment of the Feydhoo
Netball Court.
The construction of the Maradhoo Feydhoo FRC was inaugurated at a ceremony
officiated by the Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works, Mr.
Adam Shareef Umar, together with the State Minister for Sports, Fitness and
Recreation, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Ibrahim. The ceremony was attended by the Member
of Parliament for Feydhoo South, Mr. Ibrahim Didi; the Member of Parliament for
Feydhoo North, Mr. Ismail Nizar; and the Managing Director of the Corporation,
Mr. Ibrahim Nazeem, along with other officials.
The Maradhoo Feydhoo Fitness and Recreation Center is being developed as a
multi-purpose facility designed to support a wide range of sporting activities.
The center will include facilities for various indoor sports, including an
indoor gymnasium and an aerobics studio, providing a centralized venue for
fitness and recreational activities for the community.
Meanwhile, the agreement for the construction of the Feydhoo Netball Court
was signed at a separate ceremony held in Feydhoo. The agreement was signed on
behalf of the Government by the State Minister for Sports, Fitness and
Recreation, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Ibrahim, while the agreement was signed on behalf
of the Corporation by its Managing Director, Mr. Ibrahim Nazeem.
These projects reflect the Government’s continued commitment to enhancing
sports and recreational infrastructure in Addu City and promoting healthy
lifestyles across island communities.
