The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has been awarded the contract to
expand the emergency room (ER) at Hulhumale Hospital. The agreement was
formalized during a signing ceremony at the hospital, attended by CEO of Male’
Group of Hospitals, Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Halim, and RDC Managing Director
Brigadier General (Retired) Ali Zuhair.
The project aims to double the ER's capacity, expanding from 7 to 14 beds,
in an effort to strengthen the hospital's ability to handle emergency medical
cases. Awarded within two months, the contract reflects the urgent need for the
expansion.
During the ceremony, CEO Halim highlighted RDC’s selection for the project,
citing the corporation's proven track record of efficiently completing projects
within tight deadlines. He praised RDC’s ability to deliver high-quality
infrastructure, making it a trusted partner in critical healthcare development.
This project underscores RDC’s role in advancing key infrastructure projects
to support growing communities.
Hulhumale Hospital, currently operating as a tertiary care facility, has
already served over 250,000 patients through its emergency and GOPD services
this year. Despite the ongoing expansion, the hospital continues to provide
daily services to a large number of patients. The corporation remains committed
to completing the expansion before the set deadline.
RDC Managing Director, Brigadier General (Retd) Ali Zuhair, expressed
confidence that the company will complete the work within the stipulated time
frame.
