Road Construction Project in Addu Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo Officially Commences

The road modernization project in Addu Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo has officially
commenced, marking a significant step in improving transportation
infrastructure in Addu City.
The project was launched during the official visit of His Excellency
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to Addu City, reflecting the Government’s
continued commitment to enhancing road infrastructure across the country.
The construction works were formally inaugurated by the Minister of
Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Abdulla Muththalib. The
inauguration ceremony was attended by the Member of Parliament for Meedhoo
Constituency, Mr. Abdul Rahman; the Member of Parliament for Hulhudhoo
Constituency, Mr. Mohamed Shahid; the Chairman of the Corporation, Mr. Mohammed
Shami Adam; and the Managing Director of the Corporation, Mr. Ibrahim Nazeem,
along with other officials.
In line with national development priorities, the Government gives first
priority to the improvement of roads located near key community institutions
and those that are severely deteriorated when undertaking rural road
development projects.
The Government continues to entrust qualified companies with the development
and modernization of road networks across various islands of the Maldives, with
the aim of enhancing connectivity, safety, and the overall quality of life for
residents.
