Work has commenced in segments 12 and 13 of Ameenee Magu as part of Malé Ameenee Magu Streetscaping Project.
The decision to resume work aligns with the existing work scope and RDC assures stakeholders and the public, increased efforts to complete these two segments. Work is being carried out from PSM to end of Ameenee Magu connecting to Boduthakurufaanu Magu. An additional 2 lanes, bringing the total to 4 lanes, will be developed in these two segments. This expansion aims to optimize traffic flow and improve overall accessibility.
Managing water, sewerage and utility cables poses a significant challenge in reconstructing Ameenee Magu. Excavation encounters obstacles due to the thin water rise and the natural characteristics of the ground, further complicated by the disorderly layout of electric cables and wires.
The project recommenced following a rescheduling process in accordance with President Dr. Muizzu's #Hafthaa14 Road Map.
The road development project involves paving the whole 1.7km length of Ameenee Magu with asphalt laying and installing a new stormwater drainage system.
