R. Hulhudhuffaaru Road Development Project Nears Completion with Asphalt Laying Preparations Underway

R. Hulhudhuffaaru Road Development Project is moving swiftly towards its final stages, with preparations for asphalt laying now underway.  The project, initiated under the Design and Build policy, has already seen the completion of major groundwork, including excavation and the installation of crucial infrastructure. Currently, 73% of the work has been completed, with the aggregate base course (ABC) now being laid.
This significant infrastructure project spans a total of 3.1 km, covering six key roads on the island. The project, which commenced in May 2022, comes with a budget of MVR 88,912,040.55 and aims to modernize the island’s road network. Enhancements include the installation of a cable junction network, a stormwater management system, pump stations, and streetlights. To date, 87% of the total work has been completed, reflecting steady progress toward completion.
